We have an exciting line up of concerts in 2019 starting off early on 9th February with JOGLARESA, Early Music’s “bit of rough”, and their production “The Virgin Queen”. According to the Telegraph, “this rebellious London based medieval/ folk ensemble pushes the limits of Early Music embodying boldness and improvisatory chutzpah that gets straight to the heart of medieval music”
This is followed closely on 9th March with the JACK MAC JAZZ QUINTET. The Cardiff based group, featuring both alumni and current students from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, will treat us to an enjoyable evening of high quality music, covering a range of jazz styles.
To herald summer, on 25th May the award winning CLASSICO LATINO will give us an evening of exciting, passionate virtuosic Latin American music, clothed in a unique classical sound.
On 29th June, the well loved and respected local chamber group ORIEL SINGERS will present a programme entitled “The Good Morrow “ after John Donne’s famous poem themed on love using as its backbone the beautiful Mass in E Flat for double choir by Joseph Rheinberger.
And then later, at the winter end of our season 5th October, we’ll have an evening of Baroque music from virtuoso musicians PASSACAGLIA, played in authentic style on recorders, flutes, violin, viola da gamba and harpsichord.
The season closes on 2nd November with an organ recital from LUKE BOND, Assistant Director of Music at St George’s Chapel Windsor. This gifted organist has played for many major royal events including the 2018 weddings.
