On October 29th Daniel Cook, sub-Organist at Westminster Abbey, is performing on the famous Johnson organ of Malmesbury Abbey. The organ recital is always one of the highlights of the MAMS season as distinguished organists have enjoyed playing this fine instrument. Daniel Cook promises to maintain the high standard. He has produced a varied programme including Buxtehude, Bach, Durufle, Vierne and many others, designed to give a flavour of life in that other Abbey.
Meanwhile there has been a change of programme for the final concert of the season on November 12th. Notus Winds are unable to perform, but we are delighted to welcome the Grove Wind Quintet, who like Notus Winds are current students or recent graduates from the Royal Academy of Music. They will be performing a varied programme including Nielsen’s Wind Quintet, Barber’s Summer Music and Piazzolla’s Libertango
